核物质科学协同创新中心暑期学校

强相互作用物质在极端条件下的性质是当前高能核 物理研究的重大前沿课题。为了更好地开展这一前沿课题的研究和培养青年研究队伍,我们将承办第三期理论物理前沿暑期讲习班:极端高能高密状态下的核物质形 态(2014 CCNU QCD 讲习班)。暑期学校为期两周(6月2-13日),主要针对于国内在高能核物理领域内的研究生、博士后,青年研究工作者和教师。我们邀请到美国哥伦比亚大学 的Al Mueller教授、法国巴黎综合理工大学的Stephane Munier博士、美国俄亥俄州立大学的Ulrich Heinz教授、加拿大麦吉尔大学的Sangyong Jeon教授就高能核物理的前沿基础理论和应用做系列报告。主要授课内容包括胶子饱和物理、QCD统计物理和相对论流体力学。讲习班中期(6月6日)将安 排一天的研讨会,邀请参会学生和其他专家报告高能核物理的最新研究进展。

  会议不收取注册费,免费提供中餐和晚餐,住宿和旅行自理。讲习班由中国科学基金委、科学部主任基金理论物理专款、核物质科学协同创新中心和华中师范大学以及“夸克与轻子物理”教育部重点实验室、国家自然科学基金委华中师范大学“高能核物理”创新群体基金资助。

the Third Summer School on Frontiers of Theoretical Physics: States of Nuclear Matter under High Temperature and Density

Summer School Time: June 2-13, 2014

Introduction to the summer school:

  The study of strong-interaction matter under extreme conditions is one of the frontiers in high energy nuclear physics. To better serve the research in this area, we plan to host "The 2nd Summer School on Frontier in Theoretical Physics: Nuclear Matter at Extreme Temperatures and Densities (2014 CCNU QCD school)" in Central ChinaNormal University from June 2 to June13, 2014. This two-week school is designed to provide professional training for graduate students, postdocs, junior research scientists and young teachers in the area of high energy nuclear physics. We have invited Professor Al Mueller from Columbia University (United States), Dr. Stephane Munierfrom Ecole Polytechnique (France), Professor Ulrich Heinz from the Ohio StateUniversity (United States) and Professor Sangyong Jeon from McGill University(Canada) to give a series of lectures on the basic theory and application in the frontier of high energy nuclear physics. The main topics to be covered include gluon saturation physics, QCD statistical physics and relativistic hydrodynamics. On June 6th, there will be one-day seminar and the speakers will be selected from participating students and some other experts to present the latest development in high energy nuclear physics.

Topics to be covered:

1. Relativistic hydrodynamics and its applications to high energy nuclear collisions (Lecturers: Ulrich Heinz, Sangyong Jeon)
2. Saturation Physics and QCD statistical physics. (Lecturers: Alfred Mueller, Stephane Munier)

   There is no registration fee. Lunch and dinner are provided free of charge. The accommodation and travel expenses are not covered. This summer school is funded by NSFC, NSFC Director Special Funding for Theoretical Physics, Center for Nuclear Matter Science at CCNU and CCNU as well as Key Laboratory of Quark and Lepton Physics.

强子物理前沿专题讨论会

  针对强子 内部结构的研究是高能核物理研究中最基本的问题。尤其是强子自旋结构和胶子饱和现象以及相对论性重离子碰撞中的一些相关可观测量的研究是强子研究的前沿。 最近提出的电子离子对撞机可以通过精确的测量帮助我们去探索和研究这些相关的物理问题。强子物理前沿专题讨论会将邀请国内外理论物理和实验专家讨论未来强 子物理的前沿研究, 特别是有关电子离子对撞机物理的问题。

Symposium on the Frontier of Hadron Physics at CNMS

Symposium time:June 14-15, 2014


  Understanding the internal structure of hadrons is one of the most fundamental problems in high energy nuclear physics. Especially, the research focusing on the nucleon spin problem and low x gluon saturation phenomenon, as well as various observables in heavy ion collisions is the frontier of hadron physics research. Recently, an Electron Ion Collider (EIC) is proposed to explore these physics with unprecedented precision. The “Symposium on the Frontier of Hadron Physics” will invite experts, who work on the frontier of hadronic physics research, to discuss the progress and future direction, especially the interesting physics related to the EIC.
