王新年

  王新年教授现任华中师范大学粒子物理研究所所长。1989年获得美国俄勒冈大学物理系博士,后在洛伦兹伯克利(Lawrence Berkeley) 国家实验室和杜克大学做博士后工作。1992年受聘于洛伦兹伯克利国家实验室的研究员,1997至今为该实验室的高级研究员,1999-2007任该实验室核理论室主任。2010始任美国能源部喷注课题合作组(JET Collaboration)主任及共同发言人。 1999为华中师大特聘教授,2010 “千人计划”特聘教授。2013始为华中师大高能核物理国家“创新研究群体”牵头人。多年来从事高能粒子和核物理的研究工作,特别是高能重离子碰撞中寻找夸克胶子等离子体(QGP)新型物质的理论研究。主要的研究方向是:微扰量子色动力学在高能核物理中的应用、输运理论、利用喷注淬火研究QGP的物理性质、利用蒙特卡洛模型和相对论流体力学模拟高能重离子碰撞等问题。迄今已发表论文210多篇,总引用10900多次。曾获得1991年度中国科学院自然科学二等奖(联合),2000年度中国自然科学基金委的海外杰出青年B(合作单位:华中师范大学)和中国教育部山东大学的长江讲座教授, 2002年当选为美国物理学会会士(Fellow of American Physical Society)。2003 年获得波兰国家教育部杰出合作奖(2003年)2010年入选“千人计划”国家特聘专家。近五年主要国内外学术任职有:国际现代物理E 杂志执行编辑 (Int. J. Mod. Phys. E) (2001–);(2006-2008);中国自然科学基金委基金评审专家(2006-2008);美国物理学会物理评C杂志编辑部成员(Physical Review C) (2007-2009);中国科学(物理学,力学,天文学)编辑委员会成员(2007-);美国自然科学基金委(NSF)核物理基金评审委员会成员(2007);夸克物质(Quark Matter)国际会议(2006,2008,2009,2011, 2012)、硬探针(Hard Probes)国际会议(2008,2006,2010,2012)、中日韩三角重离子大会(ATHIC)(2006,2008,2010, 2012)等国际顾问委员会委员;夸克物质(Quark Matter 2004)硬探针(Hard Probes 2006)国际会议组织委员会主席。

Biographic Sketch:

  Prof. Xin-Nian Wang, currently Director of the Institute of Particle Physics at Central China Normal University. He was awarded Ph. D. in physics by the Physics Department at the University of Oregon in 1989 and then went to Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (1989-1991) and Duke University (1991-1992) as a postdoctoral fellow. He was appointed as a Divisional Fellow at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in 1992, became a Senior Scientist since 1997 and was the head of the Nuclear Theory Program during 1999-2007. He became the Program Manager and co-Spokesmen of the JET Topical Collaboration of US Department of Energy since 2010. He was appointed as “1000-plan” Distinguished Professor at Central China Normal University in 2010, and is leading the National Innovative Research Team on high-energy nuclear physics at CCNU since 2013. His main research interest is in high-energy particle and nuclear physics, especially in the search for a new form of matter known as the Quark-Gluon Plasma in high-energy heavy-ion collisions. His past and psent research included application of pQCD in high-energy nuclear physics, transport theory, jet quenching as a probe of QGP properties, Monte Carlo and relativistic hydrodynamic description of high-energy heavy-ion collisions. He has published more than 2100 scientific papers with over 10900 citations. He was awarded Natural Science Award (second prize) by the Chinese Academy of Science in 1991, the Outstanding Overseas Young Investigator by Natural Science Foundation of China and Changjiang Visiting Professorship by Ministry of Education of China in 2000. He was elected a Fellow of American Physical Society in 2002, awarded Polish Ministry National Education Award for Outstanding Team Research in 2003. He was appointed China National Distinguished Researcher through the “1000-talent” program.
