Searching for dark matter in space

Speaker: Prof. Yufeng Zhou (周宇峰) from Institute of Theoretical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences

In this talk we begin with a brief overview on the dark matter as

a dominant component of matter in the Universe, which includes evidence, candidates and detection methods. Then we discuss the current status of the dark matter indirect searches using the cosmic-ray antimatter, gamma rays etc., as important probes. With the current indirect search entering the TeV era, we emphasize the importance of the contributions from nearby discrete sources within kpc. The implications of the recent progresses made by the experiments such AMS-02, Fermi-LAT and DAMPE on the dark matter theory is discussed in detail. we also discuss the future perspectives on the dark matter space search projects.
